‘Ray Donovan’ actress Mary Mara dies aged 61 in suspected drowning

Actress Mary Mara best known for her role as Mrs Sullivan on ‘Ray Donovan’

Her lifeless body was found on Sunday morning (26.06.22) in the St Lawrence River in the town of Cape Vincent, around 90 miles north of Syracuse.

Her career, which spanned more than 3 decades, saw Mara feature in over 20 movies and 40 television shows, including ‘West Wing’, ‘Law and Order: Special Victims Unit’, ‘NYPD Blue’ and ‘Lost’.

Mary Mara’s last credit was a role in 2020’s ‘Break Even’.

Mary Mara, an actress known for roles on "ER" and "Ray Donavan," has died, her manager, Craig Dorfman, said in a statement to CNN. She was 61.

Police said that an official cause of death is still pending, but that there were no signs of foul play and that it appeared Mara drowned while swimming.

Mara, who in 1989 debuted in the made-for-television movie The Preppie Murder, worked mainly as a character actor in scores of film and TV roles.

On stage, she appeared in 1989 with Michelle Pfeiffer, Jeff Goldblum, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio and Gregory Hines in a New York Shakespeare Festival production of Twelfth Night.
